Relocation of the Home Branch creek to make way for a cement mine expansion. This project lasted over two years as our scope was expanded to assist the mine with the mass earthwork portion of channel construction. At the time of permitting, this was the largest stream redirection in South Carolina state history. The most complicated portion of the project required growing over 50,000 native wetland plants. Our team installed herbaceous plugs, natural cuttings and native trees to establish a natural wetland /stream environment. We also constructed a one-of-a-kind timber water control weir to regulate incoming flow to the channel.
